IgG, IgM, IgA, IgD, and IgE are the five kinds of antibodies. Antibodies against immunoglobulin G (IgG) are big globular proteins with a molecular weight of around 150 kDa that are comprised of four peptide chains. IgG is released as a tiny monomer, allowing it to quickly perfuse tissues. It is the only antibody isotype with receptors that allow it to pass through the human placenta, protecting the child in pregnancy.
